There's a Coal Grove, OH, south of Ironton, OH, across the Ohio River from
Ashland, KY.

You can use Mapblast or other such sites or a map program. If the place is an
old name which has been changed over time you can use the following url to

Oddly enough, there was a move in the 1990's to reinstate railroad
ferry service from Coal Grove. The expansion of the Michigan
Central tunnels Detroit-Windsor had made the tugs and carfloats
surplus. One industry (was it Armco Steel?) on the south shore at
Ashland was thoroughly disgusted with CSX service and sought NS
service. The connection to the plant was to be via the Ohio River
using the surplus Detroit River floats and tugs.

It isn't found in the List of Stations, but there's a location just east of
the Ashland highway bridge Tadpolers know as "Wyatt's Monument".
A line relocation in the 1950's (during V.P.-Operations H.C.Wyatt's
administration) reduced many curves, but brought the eastward main
track close to the north bank of the Ohio. Over the years, the eastward
main track has begun to slip toward the river. At times, it has resulted
in a 10 MPH slow order being issued. If the pole line is still there,
travelers along U.S. 52 can note that the telephone poles angle toward
the Ohio River.
