box with a lamp inside and a "jewel" (green or red) on
the front. 

There used to be one of these inside the station at
Shenandoah. Red light indicating a train was in the
block. There were two so that you could tell if the
train was from the north or the south.

Hello, all:

Were block indicators of any style found at most
stations in the agent-operator's office, or in
relatively few locations?  If the Archives has
mechanical or electrical drawings for shop-made boxes
like the one Jimmy describes, I'd like to know about
them.
