My signal is going back up!

There's a former NW (NKP) caboose in Vienna, VA. Their solution to keep
people off the ladders was to put what looks like Plexiglas panels on the
lower sections of the ladders (bolted on). That way you see the ladder but
it discourages people from climbing.

We don't have a homeowners association in our sub. Heck, we only got zoning
about three or four years ago, and it made the citizens in the county so mad
they ousted the entire county board at the following election! I want to
get this stuff up before anything else gets implemented so it will be
grandfathered in.

As for the ladder, I put it up yesterday, and took it back down. It is in
two sections. Without the lower portion, it is unstable. If a kid climbed
up the pole and got on the bottom part of the ladder, I don't think the
ladder would hold them. I'm starting to think I should just ditch the
ladder.

Any other ideas?

Hey Ben

You definately want to keep any kids from climbing that pole! As was
suggested, making the ladder jointed (removeable) sounds like the way to go.

With our "sue first ask questions later" society, you don't want to risk
anything!

By the way, your subdivsion must have a more flexible Homeowners Association

than mine - I can't even paint the mailbox a different color. Wonder what
they'd do if I put a crossing signal up?
