Mike,
The slug pictured appears to be an ex-Conrail slug that was made from an
Alco DL-600. I think they were primarily used at Conway and Selkirk yards.

BTW, what part of Bristol were the photos taken in? It doesn't look like any
part I remember from the early 1980's when I lived there (I was a conductor
on the ill-fated Bristol & Northwestern).
