Powhatan Arrow Drumhead?

The part of the story I know, from a footnote in the back of the old
edition of the N&W Passenger service book, is that the two boat-tailed
observation cars were sold to the Saudi Arabian Government Railroad. I
Don't have the date or their original disposition. I hope somebody more
knowledgeable, or at least closer to their references, can add
precision and hopefully tell the rest of the story.

Would somebody mind to provide some details about the passenger cars in
"the sandbox"? I am a little new at this and don't know the
backstory.

Thanks

The 1953 Car Builder's Cyc has a photo of the 581 with a
squarish surface mounted box sign with roundish corners & looks to be
about 24" wide. Hmmmm.

I
wonder, would this have been used after the 581 and 582 went to the
sandbox?

To
who's asking

Its not the real thing. The real
drumhead was built into the door
and I suppose went with the cars to
Saudi-Arabia.

I know that one of the glass signs survives.
Attach. Photo of the
real
deal.

In the
attached photos are pictures of what may be the drumhead
off of
the Arrow Observation.

The body is made of stainless steel.
The dimensions are front panel
is 20 1/2" wide, 14 3/4"
high.

The back is 19 5/8" wide, 13 13/16" high. There are
no markings on
the case, the power cord is also painted Tuscan
Red. Can this be
authenticated as the Arrow
Drumhead?
