DOUBLE TRACK FROM NORFOLK TO COLUMBUS
------
N. & W. Spending More Money in Improvements Than Any Other Road
------
"The Norfolk and Western railroad," said an official of that line, "is preparing to double track its line clear through from Norfolk to Columbus. Of course it will require several years, but it will eventually be done.
"The new line down Big Sandy makes practically a double track from Naugatuck to Kenova, and extensive double tracking and improvements are being made in the coal field.
"The distance from Kenova to Ironton will probably be the next to be double tracked, and then on to Portsmouth. From Portsmouth to Columbus more time will be required, as will be the case from the coal fields east.
"It will be several years before the work is all accomplished, but it will be done. The Norfolk and Western is spending a greater amount of money annually in improvements than any other railroad in this section, and the entire system is in excellent condition."
