N&W in 1903 -- Eggleston Tunnel

The post card shows Eggleston #1.  Haven't been  to
Eggleston in 25 years or so, but N&W  had  plowed
a ditch across the track to the right.  That was  the
abandoned route to the old tunnel.   Before  the
barrier was there,  one could drive an  automobile
(in my case a pick-up truck) directly into the old
tunnel, but the only way out was to back out,  because
the ceiling had collapsed.
