N&W in 1903 -- Accidents Come in Threes

THREE FREIGHT TRAIN WRECKS YESTERDAY

    Through traffic on the Pocahontas division was delayed about ten hours by several wrecks in the neighborhood of Williamson. A west bound freight parted two miles east of Williamson and five cars were wrecked.  The same train going into the Williamson yard wrecked seven cars.  At Hull there was another freight wreck.  All passenger trains were delayed, and by reason of the wrecks being some distance apart, transfers could not be made.
