LEGISLATURE IS RUSHING MATTERS

NORFOLK & WESTERN MAY NOW USE BELT LINE

Makes It Possible for Railroads to Build, Lease and Operate Cut-Offs

Richmond, Va., Feb. 29 - Special - The bill allowing the Norfolk &
Western Railway to make use of the belt line it has built around the
city of Lynchburg was again called up in the senate. This is the bill
that makes it possible for a railroad to build, lease and operate a
cut off. It is general in its scope, but only affects at this time
the Norfolk & Western. The bill was amended and adopted by a vote of
twenty-two to eleven.

[This is cut from an article about items the State senate was working
on. Kind of vague what they are talking about here, but I assume this
refers back to the 2/28/1908 "WOULD BENEFIT N. & W. RAILROAD" article]
