Deepwater to Sell All Rights to Tidewater
------
There has been considerable speculation over the name by which H. H. Rogers' Deepwater Tidewater railroad would be known when completed. The West Virginia end of the road has been known as the Deepwater and the Virginia line as the Tidewater.
At a meeting of the stockholders of the Deepwater Railway Company to be held at Ansted April 22, the advisability of conveying all the property, rights, etc., of the Deepwater Company to the Tidewater Railway Company will be considered.
This does not mean any change in the plans of the Deepwater Company, the purpose being simply to effect a merger and complete corporate identity with the Tidewater Railway Company, the Virginia corporation which is building the Virginia railroad which connects with the Deepwater, and is owned by the same parties, both roads being a part of one general scheme.
When this merger is made, the Deepwater Railway will pass out of existence and the great coal carrying road will be henceforth known as the Tidewater [But, we know better now.].
