IN CITY AND COALFIELD
------
Rev. E. Oliver will say Mass at Camp's Camp on the new Deepwater road near Princeton.
------
H. H. Gearhart, a young Norfolk and Western brakeman of Vivian, was slightly injured near Bluefield Thursday. He had been sent to the rear of his train to flag, and lay down on the track and fell asleep, failing to hear the approach of a freight train, which happened to be moving very slowly. One arm was slightly bruised.

[The Federal Hours of Service law, which initially limited train service employees to sixteen hours on duty, didn't go into effect until March 4,1908. Its hard to tell how long Gearhart may have been on duty or how much sleep he missed while off duty.]
