I was wondering about the Waldron-Walrond connection; I've wondered about it for several years . . .

There was also Dick Waldron, a Norfolk Div.
engineer that chose the Roanoke-Monroe
runs rather than the Roanoke-Crewe
runs. Railroading was a second occupation
for him. During the Monroe layover, he
occupied his time playing poker and took
the Southern people to the cleaners.

After the final runs of Nos. 41-42, he had to
re-educate himself with the territory east of
Lynchburg because he'd held the assign-
ments to Monroe for almost 30 yrs.
