At least it survived.  I'm glad at least one has made it out of there "alive", even though they are dead as far as steam goes.

Here is a link to a few photos of the 917 on its new site. It is highly at the I-71 Lexington-Bellville exit - Ohio 97.

Quite a hodge-podge of parts. Pony truck equalizer beam, piston rods, crosshead guides and other key parts have been cut. They are being reassembled into a reasonable likeness, but certain to never be operational again. Tough for the purist to witness, but better than going to the scrapper, of course. The air reservior was stenciled July '50. No tender made the trip, so the new owner will be improvising one. Hmmm.... 

Note that a pony truck from an M made the trip, too. That, I understand, will somehow be used for a tender truck.
