[Areas of this long article were so washed out on the microfilm as to be illegible, so some excerpts are given here.]

NO TRAINS COME INTO BLUEFIELD FROM THE WEST
------
Three hundred men are at work clearing the track. Every hour brings news of new slides. Track in some cases under three feet of water. West of Glen Alum 150 feet of track washed out. At Wilmore a temporary track was built around the slide. On the Bluestone--Pocahontas line water was pouring from the first tunnel. The Virginian was unable to run trains because of slides.
------

[Stay tuned for another article on this situation.]
