We need a benefactor to donate about $10-25 million to build a loop track
around Roanoke and pay to have the 611 and 1218 steam up twice a year and
run around the city! I don't know too many steam fans with that kind of
money, though.

The topic comes up all the time at a lot of tables. None that matter.

I will have to agree with Ed.King. Not in your lifetime. But theirs always

Hope. That's what are politicians are always telling us!

Hi Ed,

I heard a bit of a different story and have watched them move her and keep
her bearings lubed. I was told by those same employees that the topic was
on the table.

I am Just curious how you formed your statement "not in your lifetime."

Welcome, Newby!

Since the N&W doesn't/didn't have a 614, might you be thinking of ex-C&O J3a
4-8-4 614?

What there is is a 611, which is in the museum in Roanoke and probably will
not run again in your lifetime.
