SPENDING THREE MILLIONS ON WINDING GULF
------
Almost Half of Virginian Branch Road Completed with Rapid Progress on Rest

It will not be long now until the Winding Gulf branch of the new Virginian road will be completed and trains will be running into one of the richest of all West Virginia coal deposits. According to reports from the contractors who are doing the work of construction about fifteen miles of the work has been practically completed and as a considerable portion of the remainder is of light construction, it is not expected that many more months will be necessary in finishing the work, thus giving the new road access to the richest vein of coal which is in existence in the Raleigh and nearby county regions. It is said by those in position to know that the Virginian is spending more than three million dollars in opening this new branch.
