Yesterday was April Fool's Day. The big computer search engine "Google"
changed its header to "Topeka", a reverse echoing of the move by Topeka, KS
mayor to change that town's name to Google. My second favorite April Fool's
Day prank was in 1975 when an Australian TV news program reported that
their nation would convert to "metric time", making 100 seconds to the
minute, 100 minutes to the hour, and 20 hours to the day with seconds
called millidays, minutes called centidays and hours called decidays. My
favorite April Fool prank was yesterday when I reported that ebay had a
1937 Virginian Calendar for sale for $10. See H. Reid's "The Virginian
Railway" page 90 where VGN president Carl Buckholtz gave me the
idea.....Thanks to those who wrote and laughed with me!
