National Train Day's origin goes back to May 10, 1869, when the "golden
spike" joined the Central Pacific & Union Pacific Railroads at Promontory
Summit, Utah to create the national's first Transcontinental Railroad.

The founders of Mother's Day should have checked their historical calendars
 before selecting a non-competitive date !!
