IN CITY AND COALFIELD
------
Good Progress on Tunnel
G. T. Franklin, of the Franklin contracting Company, was in the city last night on his way east. Mr. Franklin says his concern, which is driving the 4,700 feet Cedar Bluff tunnel, has driven about one-quarter way through the mountain, including the headings from both ends. The firm expects to have the work done on contract time. In the meantime the other contractors who are building the railroad which will connect Canebrake and Cedar Bluff are making good headway with their preliminary work and the section is known among the traveling men as "Busy Mountain."
