NORFOLK AND WESTERN TO ENTER KENTUCKY TOWN
------
Catlettsburg and Ashland Will Ask Road to Extend Its Lines Across Sandy
The Catlettsburg (Ky.) Tribune states that a chamber of commerce committee has been appointed to wait on the officials of the Norfolk and Western for the purpose of asking the road to enter the state of Kentucky across the Big Sandy over the proposed new bridge. They will be asked to extend their line to take in Catlettsburg and Ashland. The Ashland chamber of commerce will, it is stated, take the same action.
The Tribune says, "All additional expense to the railroad people, in order to enter the two Kentucky cities, would consist in the building of the Big Sandy bridge, and the construction of only a few miles of road between this city and Ashland, and there can be no doubt but what it would much more than justify the proposed changes.

[It would be interesting to know why the N&W did not accept these invitations.]
