Virginian Getting Ready For Increasing Coal Tonnages
The Virginian Railway Company has placed an order with the Pressed Steel Car Company of Pittsburg [Sic. Later in 1911 the official spelling was changed to "Pittsburgh."] for 1000 steel hopper cars to cost about $1,500,000. This addition to the equipment is in anticipation of the opening to traffic of the Kanawha, Glen Jean and Eastern Railway, a short line in this state, which is about ready to commence turning coal over to the Virginian.
