AGRICULTURAL SPECIAL IS AT TAZEWELL TODAY
-----
Intensive Farming Being Preached And Special Attention Is Given To Seeding
The Norfolk and Western agricultural special which is teaching intensive farming to the farmers in the territory along the line of that road, arrived last night at Tazewell, where it will be today, and all the farmers who care to visit the cars will be welcomed and told all the specialists in farming can tell about raising all kinds of vegetables and farm products. Special attention is being given to seeding at this time and it is believed that many of the farmers will learn many new ideas about where and when to plant seeds which some have planted anywhere the notion struck them. Special attention is given to feeding the farms with water and proper kinds of manure and phosphates which produce results on farms where farmers have been almost willing to throw up the sponge. Hay and grass also come in for their part on the program and the raising of cattle will not be slighted. A good day's work will be done at Tazewell if the farmers attend and get interested. The men on the train, which is in charge of Dr. E. A. Schubert, are apostles of better farming and they find that intensive farming is the only kind that always pays because it is economical and because it permits of crops being grown year after year on the same land by a proper feeding of the land which can starve if not properly taken care of.
