THE GRAHAM DAILY NEWS
------
Loafing at the Depot
What has become of the ordinance passed by the council some time ago prohibiting loafing on the premises of the Norfolk and Western railroad around the Graham depot. Judging from the way these undesirables are permitted to hang and roost on the railings and trucks this law must have died a-borning.

OPEN NEW BRIDGE
July 4 Expected to Prove Memorable Day at Narrows
It is expected that July 4 will be a memorable day in Narrows. All is in readiness for the biggest day in the history of the town and large crowds of people are expected to fill the confines of the largest village in Giles county from morning until night. The new bridge across New River which has been under construction for some time will be thrown open to the public today for the first time and people can walk across New River to what is expected to be the largest part of the town in a few years. The new bridge will make it possible for people to walk from the Norfolk and Western depot to the proposed Virginian railway station. Yesterday the bridge was inspected and accepted by the county which erected it and everything is in readiness for the big time the people are planning for the memorable occasion.
