The UP units were gas turbines, and sound is often described as a high pitched whine.? The JH was a steam turbine; articles I read described sound as a "whoosh".? Saw JH in the shops with scrapping in progress; did not see (or hear) either loco in operation.

The company that purchased NWSL is getting ready to release their Stanton drives,
similar to the PDT, matching the spacing on the 2300.? Since mine has been in storage
waiting for the proper drive system or a knock on the head to inspire some sort of improvement,
I have been waiting for these and have been in contact with NWSL about them.? Now that
release is in sight, I will need sound.? QSI has a sound decoder for the UP turbines that I
am curious if they would sound close to Jawn.
