WELCH NEWS NOTES
------
Mail Boxes at Station
The United States government has placed at the new Norfolk and Western railway station at this place mail boxes for the accommodation of passengers and others desiring to mail letters and get important mail on both eastbound and westbound trains. This is a great convenience to the general public, as it enables mail to be gotten on the train that could not. otherwise be sent on account of not having gotten it to the postoffice in time for the train for which it was intended. Upon the arrival of both east-end and westbound trains, the mail clerks take the mail from the letter boxes and handle it in the regular way on the train.
