Thanks, an interesting compilation. Yes, the removal directions for the
pistons and cranks are instructive!

I worked summers for the Long Island during college; they of course had
FMs. I didn't hear too much bad about the engines (although I did see one at
Morris Park with a broken upper crankshaft) but oh my the curses of the
Westinghouse electricals, especially the main generators! They had to cut
out 8th notch on the 2000 and 2400 HP locos because the main generator
flashovers were killing them. By the time Vgn bought theirs, W had pulled out of
the mainline rr equipment market so Vgn got all GE electrical equipment.
