I did a little research and looked thru some of my photos from that ere. I
found photos of many of them stored in South Yard in both EL and CR paint.
I also found photos of at least four in service on the N&W before they were
retired. N&W didn't use them for long. I have photos of 6672, 6680, 6682
and 6684 in freight service. These four were all in CR blue.

I have attached a photo of 6680 in service in July, 1984 and I have a photo
of her as well working in August, 1984. By December she was in the dead
line.

It least two were returned to N&W still in EL paint. I have attached photos
of them retired in South Yard.

Thanks,

I think I remember seeing at least one in EL paint at the south yard in
Roanoke. There were others, perhaps in Conrail colors, but my memory is
fuzzy by now. I understand that they never saw service on the N&W.

Were any of the SDP45's returned to the N&W still in EL paint from Conrail
or were they all in Conrail schemes?
