Signal safari part 6

Coming to the end of my trip, the first shot is at Blackberry City.  Next
is a distant signal for movements entering the main from the Alma branch.
 Since a train has not choice of route in this case, why is approach
diverging the appropriate aspect for this signal?  Last shot shows main
signals at Chatteroy.
