Conjectures on the Location of the Original "Shafers Crossing"

It took until 1919 for the Sanborn map to get out that far from downtown,
but the index map shows Salem Avenue crossing the tracks. The pages that
cover that area don't go quite far enough but do show adjacent streets,
which might offer up more clues.
