He passed away at 12:25pm, October 25, 1936.

V. division; 1896 to Dec. 25, 1898, assistant trainmaster Pocahontas division; Dec. 25, 1898, to May 22, 1901, trainmaster Radford division;  May 22 to June 22, 1901, assistant superintendent Pocahontas division; June 22, 1901, to Oct. 6, 1902, superintendent Shenandoah division; Oct. 6 to Dec. 1902, superintendent Norfolk division; Dec. 1902 to Feb. 1904, superintendent Pocahontas division;  Feb. 1904 to Dec. 1, 1912, general superintendent; Dec. 1, 1912, to Jan. 1, 1918, general manager; Jan. 1, 1918, to June 1, 1918, vice-president in charge of operation; June 1, 1918, to March 1, 1920, federal manager; March 1, 1920, to Jan. 1, 1921, vice-president in charge of operation;  Jan. 1, 1921, to date, vice-president in charge of operation and traffic; all on the Norfolk & Western Ry.




(NOTE:  Arthur C. Needles was the nephew of Frederick J. Kimball’s wife.)




(NOTE 2:  There has apparently been some controversy about Mr. Needles' middle name.  Some sources have given his middle name as Cushman.  Does anyone have definitive information?)
