Water stops

It was definitely narrow gauge, and the coupling or uncoupling is a matter of local practice.

I was recently in Durango, CO and rode a steam train from Durango to Silverton, CO and back.  I believe it was a narrow gauge line.  We stopped twice for water on the 4 hour trip, each way, but never uncoupled.

Jim,
One of Bud Swearer's recordings is of a train stopping at Villamont for water and I don't think that they uncoupled from the train.
