The Norfolk & Western in West Virginia ~ 1881 - 1959

Most groups I belong to do place limits on sale or commercial posts by members, but many set aside specific days (Fridays, or weekends, etc.) to allow members to offer their personal items for sale. Perhaps that would be a suitable compromise for our group here as well.

This is the only group I belong to that doesn't allow members to buy/sell/trade items related to the group. I agree it is a disservice. I don't want to see it become a free-for-all but N&W related items are always of interest to N&W members. I'd prefer 1st chance to buy or sell here rather than the other groups and certainly over feebay.

Just my 2¢.

The Rule needs change . This is a very small group. And this list does it members a disservice by not allowing for sale post.
By individuals. Old school thinking needs to go out the door.

First, let me congratulate Alex on his newest book and I appreciate that he advised of its availability on this list.

However, when I attempted to post to this list regarding some model train locomotives I wanted to sell, I was informed by the Moderator that my ad was too commercial.

So what are the rules?

Jim Brewer

Moderator’s Note:

Alex’s post was followed by a note that this book is available through the commissary.

This post was allowed, since it is of general interest, not an individual selling a one or two off item, this post was allowed.
