Class BL vs. BK car height question

Thanks Jim ! I don't think my eyes can detect a 15/16th inch difference in HO scale, so for modeling purposes, I will probably just add the extra 1/2 door and attendant details to a BK car and not worry about it. Maybe I will add a thin washer between the trucks and the body to lift it a tiny bit so that there might be a slight visual difference of roof heights when coupled next to each other.

I appreciate the help !

Brent

Brent,

Class BK boxcars were 13'8" high from rail to top of running board. BL and BLa were 13' 8 15/16" high from rail to top of running board.

Were the Class BL 1 and 1/2 door boxcars taller than the Class BK single door cars?

Sincere thanks,
Brent
