The USGS has a 1968 topo map available, which might give a clue about a few things, but the wye is gone of course.

In closely examining the Valuation Map from the V-C has been updated by the notes to 1943 with the toilets being installed in the station and some other changes that year.

Since the N&W took over in 1919, the valuation maps were generally done in 1916-1917, the ones the ICC is likely to have are the same ones.

Apparently, West Jefferson and surrounding area wasn’t populated enough to justify Sanborn’s map generation “team”. It’s possible Ashe County courthouse has property deeds showing RR ROW but that would be a significant search project. Topo maps obliterate the area around the station with post-track-removal images. Google Earth shows old ROW but the structures have changed so much since 1977 track removal that those images are practically worthless.
