Attached is a small cropped section of the middle left side of the photo
from the Roanoke Public Library, marked up with the letters A, B and C.

If I am correctly understanding the lay of the land in the original photo
(it took a while, so I'm still not certain I have it right), then Point "C"
should be about where today's VA Route 419 crosses the tracks.  If so, then
I postulate that the the right of way visible between below Point "A" and
above Point "B" may be the
Castle Rock Branch or the remains thereof.
