Richard Prince, in *Norfolk & Western Railway: Pocahontas Coal
Carrier,* published
1980, describes various roundhouses at what he calls "outlying points" of
the railroad. For Bristol he states, on page 94:

"BRISTOL, VA at the Tennessee state line was provided by the N&W RR with an
8-stall brick roundhouse, complete with a 60-ft turntable. This was later
replaced by an 85-ft turntable. In 1919 an 115-ft turntable and the first
section of a new roundhouse constructed. This was completed in 1926 to
contain a total of 16 stalls, and the old roundhouse torn down."

There is no photo of either Bristol roundhouse in Prince's book.
