Concrete Mile Posts ?

The first place would be search our archives.

The first standard drawing is 1916, revised 1926 and later revised in the 1960s.

Where were they made, probably Roadway Material Yard in Roanoke. Best guess.

How much do they weight? A lot!

From what material were the earlier post made? 

Probably wood is my guess, as they tend to look like that in the few photos that show a post. The VGN drawing specified yellow pine, and they began replacing them in the early 1930s.
