identify location

 All,
My guess would be backing off the Spice Creek Branch toward the main line at Roderfield. Train was probably loaded at Premier Pocahontas Collieries, which was about five miles from the junction. There is a big sweeping curve on U.S. 52 there, where it short cuts over the mountain to Welch.  This would be about two miles from Roderfield itself, which is not on the federal highway.
