I realize that it has only been a fewmonths since we gathered in Roanoke for our latest convention,however, I am a firm believer in success through early planning.

My recordings of a couple of theclinics were completely spur-of-the-moment with only my old handheldcamera meant primarily for stills. Needless to say the results weresomewhat less than stellar. 

I know many of us are photographers andI would assume some might even be videographers, so I am asking for acouple volunteers to bring their equipment next year and help usproduce some good recordings of the clinics/presentations. Pleaselet us know what you can bring (camera, tripod, lights, microphone,ets.) so we can coordinate who will be bringing what.

And speaking of clinics/presentations,I would like to hear from all of you who would consider doing one onmodeling, history or any other N&W, VGN or NS related topic. Furthermore, I would like to hear from all of you on what topics youwould like to see covered in these sessions, even if you are not upfor doing one yourself.

Having re-assumed responsibility forthe modeling contest, I would also like to solicit your input on howthat might be improved. . . new/different categories, rulesmodifications etc.

How about other convention activities? Some splinter interest groups get together for discussions on theirfavorite topics informally. If you would make your interests knownto all, perhaps more folks with common interests could be broughttogether and specific times and places put in place for discussions. I for one am keenly interested in signals and signaling and wouldlove to meet with others who are also interested.

It would appear we have been priced outof group transportation, but we shouldn't let that prohibit ourexcursions to visit points of interest around the convention site. If you own a “soccer mom” UV, please consider bringing it andsharing the ride.

Our conventions can be whatever we wantthem to be and are willing to make happen, so let your opinions beheard and volunteer to help in whatever ways you are able.
