Scott,

I've built two of the American Model Builders Laserkit CF cabooses (Kit No.864).  The kits were well made and I am very happy with them.  I took the extra time,effort and money to detailed them: brake gear rigging, scratch building a brake wheel stand (instead of using a brake wheel staff, etc.  If you enjoy building I'd definitely recommend these kits.  I was like you-using the RTR cabooses available just did not meet my standards.  By the way, the N&W Historical Society offers these HO kits for sale.
