Pocahantas 10-6 Sleepers

There were twenty 10 roomette, 6 double bedroom cars built by Budd  in
December, 1949 and January, 1950 to plan 9523.  All were intended to  be
named for counties, but 11 were named for colleges and universities.   The
"County" cars were - Augusta County, Campbell County, Franklin  County,
Mercer County, Mingo County, Pike County, Pulaski County,  Scioto
County and Wythe  County.  The college/university sleepers were  Duke
University, Emory and Henry College, Hampden-Sydney College,  Hollins
College, Ohio State University, Randolph Macon College,  Roanoke
College, University of Cincinnati, Virginia Military  Institute, Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and Washington  and Lee University.  Years later,
PRR (or perhaps by then PC) bought these cars and configured them  into
chair cars for New York - Washington service.
