2-8-8-2 and more

I was wondering, do the model manufactures even know about the Y1, Y2a, Y3, Y3a, Y4, Y5 etc. locomotive classes, or how about the Z1, Z2, and even the 0-8-0 shop goat? I would eagerly spend my money on a loco I don't already have 3 or 4 of, but not the expensive brass ones. The Y6b I have plenty of, as also the 4-8-4, and probably won't want to buy any more. The other classes I would love to have. So why do they seem to keep putting out more Y6b's?
