Proto2000 Y3

I was talking to my stepson last night and he was asking some general 
questions about articulated locomotives. During my explanation I 
noticed the drivers of the particular Y3 we were discussing had 
rounded face versus flat face on the counterweight. Was this 
prototypical for the Y3's?
