I assume you are referring to all weather cab windows
(AWC), which often were applied to one side of the
locomotive only (the "left" side IIRC where the long
hood is the front of the loco).

Apparently GP40 1361 had them on both sides:

In this view only unit 1936 has a AWC:

I think these started to be added in the 1965-1970
time frame (I'm sure someone here knows better than
I). Best to consult photos I guess.
