BLI vs Bachmann Spectrum

  I had a Bachman years ago (as in nearly 18 or 20 years ) and I currently have 4 of the BLI engines, 3 DCC and one DC.  
   
  That being said, I like the BLI engines much better.  With a traction tire, one will easily pull about 35 or 40 hoppers up my 2.5% grade, in a curve.  Even with my current setup of a DC powerpack, they run well and seem to crawl well.  I know this can be fine tuned once I get DCC. 
   
  I also think the details are better.  On my 600, the pilot truck has spoked wheels and the bell is up on top of the boiler.  On my 611, the bell is tucked next to the air compressor on the fireman's side.  Also, the tops of the tenders, whether rounded or squared, are correct depending on the engine number.  Finally, of the 4 I have, each tender has a different number.  In fact, the one of the 611 tender is the same as on the real engine.

  Don't want the excursion version.  BLI doe have the earlier version with spoked pilot wheels.  
  I'm not planning for this engine to be run until it dies or anything, just the occasional run with 5-20 passenger cars behind it.  
  Which version looks better, which has more accurate paint, and most reliable mechanics?
