Hi James,
This list is far more friendlier than the forums I've participated in for
the last 20 or so years. While nobody here would jump on you for not
searching before posting, I've been conditioned to do so.
I also follow ebay very closely. I've managed to assemble a reasonable
collection of 100 & 70 ton hoppers, and found several other locomotives
there, but I have yet to see a N&W GP9 come up for sale. I have seen the
GP18 from time to time.
Nigel,
I didn't realize the GP18 to GP9 Phase III was an easy conversion. Any
instructions floating around?

A lot of Proto 2000's are around. Check Ebay, TrainWorld or just a simple
internet search.
I am working on how to do the tool box, anyone have ideas? I would be
interested in hearing them!
As for a red bird, my plan so far is to use the Proto 2000 GP20 chassis and
sill then use the P2K Phase 3 GP 9 hoods and cab. I will keep everyone
posted when I start these projects.
