Mollies sound system?

BEMF or back emf has been around since Broadway Limited first released their Hudson locomotive, it was underutilized by manufacturers until MTH developed their own DCC system. MTH then filed a patent for the technology which was granted about using BEMF. MTH then filed a patent lawsuit against all other DCC manufactures using BEMF in their sound systems, everyone. The NMRA and the manufactures filed a countersuit which took several years to work its way through the system but MTH did lose. While this was progressing the technology of the decoders progressed to the point where the advantages of BEMF can be used. BEMF is in all electric motors, our motors are so small that there is very little available. I used it in my slot cars for braking although I never saw much difference.

I?d also recommend WowSound, in spite of the name. I found the sound very impressive, with a couple of features I had been wishing for for the last five years; exhaust volume automatically changes based on the load (running light vs. with a train == heavy vs. light exhaust) and exhaust timing synchronization. Both are based on BEMF; I?m surprised it took this long to tie these two features together. Cylinder cock and ?power braking? (increased volume while pulling a train against the brakes) were the icing on the cake

Was impressed enough at the Cleveland NTS to buy four (though not for M?s). I did not buy the keep alive since my locomotives have not had problems on my home or club layout.

I highly recommend the TCS wow with keep alive. It is worth the additional expense

I was trying to find the best sound for the M class. So far I will probably

use the TCS as it is from the M.

not yet, I have the LMB Class M and 2 M2c's in line to get sound.

Did you have a specific question?
