Greg:
EMD's Suede Grey was Duco #88-503. Best model color currently available is Model Master#1729 - Gloss Gull Grey. May want to add a drop or two of white to lighten it up, especially in an enclosed cab interior. I thought TruColors paint had something already, but apparently not yet. Other colors what might work are Scale Coat's Primer Grey and UP Hopper Grey.
Regards,
Russ Goodwin

Greg: The cab interiors were painted suede gray. The herald plates were not bolted directly to the locomotive but were on a bracket. We have a drawing of the herald plate application in the Archive. I will look it up and get back to you. Harold

Subject: GP9 Interior Color and Herald Plate
All,
What was the color of the cab interior of the first order of GP9s? I have an Athearn Genesis WP model of the correct phase that I am rebuilding as 713.
Does anyone have a close up shot of one of the end heralds that were applied with the gothic scheme? I assumed that the plate was bolted on but don't know for sure as I never saw one.
Thanks!
Greg Davis
