Looking to Replace My J Class Engine

Jack,

All of the J’s numbered 600-610 kept the roll-top tenders throughout their careers. The J’s numbered 611-613 were the only J’s with a flat tender deck and were never paired with a roll-top tender. I would highly suggest the MTH HO Class J or the BLI Class J. Both are die-cast metal and will easily outperform the Bachman J. The heavier weight will help it track better and pull heavier trains. I’d suggest looking on the aftermarket to see if you can find one at a decent price.
