They are all packed away but you should be able to go to the Sunset/3rd Rail website and see them.Saw two 2 Rail sets in Chicago. They are big! Three feet long.

Subject: RE: Model Railroader ArticleJim – There was an importer who expressed interest in producing such a HO model in two or so varieties a few years ago, that being Division Point, but as I understand it their plans lapsed because of an ‘apparent’ lack of interest and subsequent reservations received from the modellers/collectors at the time. Yes – it is definitely a shame that this model wasn’t proceeded with, along with the proposed passenger cars, but one cannot blame an importer for not pursuing a model for reasons of a perceived ‘lack of interest’, although the thought of a complete train coming in all at once may have deterred some. We only have ourselves to blame unfortunately! It is my opinion but I doubt that we’ll ever see a commercially produced model released onto the market which I believe has a few of the ‘diehard’ VGN steam era modellers, including myself who made reservations somewhat disappointed and frustrated. Our only consolation is that we have a very comprehensive roster of most of the VGN motive power, admittedly some of it very pricey by yesterday’s standards, to enjoy or collect as we see fit. Subject: Re: Model Railroader ArticleJim, I did that loco several years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy. It is a brass import with a Sam mechanism and can motor. I made some mods to both the loco and the tender to try to get a bit closer to the prototype. I think I may still have the box in the attic and when I get chance, I’ll see if I can find the specific importer. The layout will be on tour during this summer’s NMRA convention here in St. Louis and I’ll also be giving some clinics during the week. In the April issue of Model Railroader magazine there is a very nice article about Gary Hoover’s excellent HO scale layout based on the N&W and the Virginian in the 1954 through 1957 time period. In addition to replicating certain locations on the N&W in Virginia and West Virginia, Gary also recreated several scenes made famous by Winston Link’s photos. The N&WHS makes several cameo appearances in the article as Gary mentions that he bought several station kits from the Society, and he references the Society’s online archives.
